Burn Your TODO List

Busy Work?

Being busy and being productive are far from the same thing. Most people are trying to do too much. They measure a good day by the tasks that they check off their TODO list.

Getting things done and making progress toward a goal are far from the same thing. Most people overestimate what they can do in a week and underestimate what they can do in a year (or even a month). Making progress towards a goal means focusing your resources on the right things.

It's easy to let the urgent demands of life get in the way of important goals you have.

I have to admit to embracing the huge personal time waster - the TODO list. Yes, there is a better way.

First thing in the morning I would check my TODO list and set the days priorities (read as make a new list). I am even guilty of coming back from holidays and spending the first day prioritizing my lists. I spent so much time writing and re-writing lists, balancing the urgent vs the important, when that time could have been spent actually getting things done!

Now I know better. There is a better way.

Here's what I do now
